London Roads. The Hotel warmly welcomes men and women guests from all
over the world, of every race, colour or creed.
It is about 20 minutes by bus from
Victoria, Waterloo, London Bridge
and Charing Cross Railway Stations to the Hotel, and the Elephant and
Castle tube station is nearby. Buses to many other parts of London stop
outside the Hotel.
The main Building has 200 well
furnished, centrally heated single rooms
each fitted with hot and cold water basins. Shower, bath and toilets
are at the end of all corridors. It has a shop, sitting rooms, 4
television rooms, table tennis room, library, laundry, there is space
to park cars in the Hotel drive, at owners risk.
Stamps are sold in the office.
Daily Newspapers are provided free.
Board Residence must be paid
regularly, weekly in advance, in sterling,
(see tariff), and one week's notice is required for departures. Short
and long term guests are welcome, but priority is given to the long
term guest. Extra daily accommodation costs only £30 per day, which
must be paid for in advance (£6 each extra meal).
Meals are served as follows:
breakfast 7.00 til 9.30am, lunch (on
Saturday and Sunday only) 1.00 til 2.00pm, dinner 5.30 til 7.00pm.
However during the week, for those studying or working late, dinner can
be reserved until 11pm, by writing your name on the late list or by
telephoning before 7.00pm. There is a choice of 10 items for breakfast
and dinner.
During the past 80 years 50,000
guests have stayed here from 210
different countries.
There are day and night Managers.
In the interest of others no-one
with an infectious or contagious
disease may stay in the Hotel.
There are National Health doctors
and nurses opposite the Hotel.
No animals of any description or fires of
any type are allowed in the
